The iconic Mount Panorama circuit at Bathurst has played host to the third round of the 2025 TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Australia (TGRA) GR CUP, with an exciting weekend of racing as part of the Repco Bathurst 1000.

The standout performance of the weekend belonged to Lincoln Taylor, who had a faultless weekend including claiming pole in qualifying, and wins in both of the two completed races.

Round three kicked off in dramatic fashion, with the first race of the weekend abandoned after a significant crash on the first turn which saw multiple competitors end their weekend prematurely.

With the grid reduced from 35 drivers to 30 for Race 2, drivers were keen to make an impact at the legendary Bathurst track with tight-fought racing, multiple overtakes and lead changes, as has become a hallmark of the exciting TGRA GR CUP.

After recording his first-ever GR CUP win in the previous round at Queensland Raceway, Lincoln Taylor kept up his winning momentum with a first place in Race 2 ahead of Cooper Barnes and Lachlan Gibbons.

Guest driver and GR CUP Driver Mentor, Steve Owen performed well, moving up the pack by five places to finish 8th.

Race 3 proved to be the cleanest of the round with no safety flags, with Lincoln Taylor again coming out on top ahead of Lachlan Gibbons who moved one place up the podium from Race 2, and Steve Owen who continued his rise up the field to finish third.

The weekend’s round of racing saw the TGRA GR CUP debut for Liam Gerges, who won a fully-funded drive at the round thanks to his win at the TGRA Scholarship Series Evaluation Day.

After finishing 5th in the 2025 TGRA Scholarship Series entry-level 86 racing series, Liam and other competitors were invited to compete in an evaluation experience to determine who had what it takes to become a professional racer, and acquitted himself well, finishing 20th and 16th in the two races.

With two rounds left in the 2026 season, the race for the championship is heating up, with Oli Wickham holding his lead by 92 points over Lincoln Taylor whose performance over the weekend saw him climb from 11th into 2nd.

Just like the tight-fought racing on track, the championship table is also hotly contested, with only 36 total points separating 2nd and 7th place.

The penultimate round of the TGRA GR CUP season is set to take place at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 from 24-26 October.
